An Independent Theatre, Wootton Bassett Theatre & Pub Theatre can be found on Wootton Bassett High Street, approximately two miles form Junction 16 on the M4. This intimate performance space seats 50 and presents an eclectic mix of straight drama, musical theatre, comedy, music hall, devised theatre, one act plays, youth and children’s theatre. Resident professional company ‘Too Close For Comfort’ perform regularly at WB Theatre which is also home to youth theatre companies ‘scene and not heard’ and ‘Acting UP!’
Outside the Theatre there is a pretty ‘non smoking’ courtyard, with tables and chairs for alfresco drinking. There is also a covered smoking area adjacent to the Red Lion pub, which is used for hospitality on performance nights. The Theatre now operates a full season with an onsite booking office.
